I have been a sailing instructor for a long time. As a youth at Kaneohe Yacht Club I really did not have a good understanding of how sailing schools work, and the challenges of running a sailing school.
Then later on I became an ASA sailing instructor at Island Sailing Club here in Portland, OR. A few years later became a US sailing instructor when I started running the sailing school at Vancouver Lake Sailing Club.
Then during COVID I took the time to take courses at nauticed.org and got qualified as full fledged instructor at nauticed.org.
After spending time in the nauticed.org sailing school I am quite confident that is can fit the bill in many situations of teaching individuals how to sail and be safe on the water.
This school also fits well with my long term objectives. Which is to have a fairly large yacht that can operate under a 12 pac and teach sailing and other subjects, giving certifications under nauticed.org.
