Having been an instructor in ASA and US sailing, I can say that nauticed.org is a great way to learn how to sail and be safe on the water.  There are many subjects to learn on the water and when getting training from ProSailingSchool.org you can for sure learn some of these other subjects:

• Use of a sextant
• cooking on the ocean
• provisioning
• passage planning
• downloading grib weather from satellite, and how to do weather routing

This are just a few of the topics that you can learn from this school.

There are also other areas that you can charter, like new england, the chesapeke, sea of cortez, san juans, canada, and alaska.
